Back to the Great Seal

Cold! It was December and one of those winter days where you'd rather be at home. It had been a month or so ever since the events of Animus had ended and that Minato had been able to go back to his "normal" life. As normal as life could be when you had to face the end of the world soon. So much for saving the world from Ruana, heh. And today at Gekkoukan High he had to go through one of Mr. Edogawa's science lecture.

"Eeeheehee... I know it's cold everyone, but let's try and get through this class. Focus pocus! Today we're going to do something interesting. An American physicist is passing by our school and will stop here to give you a lecture on space and time. You may not have heard of his name before, but Doctor Emmett Brown has notably..."

Wait, Emmett Brown? Wasn't that the name of that scientist with the crazy hair back in the tower? ... Surely this was just a coincidence. After all, Doc Brown wasn't from this world, so there were no chances for him to be here. And yet, the scientists that slammed the door open and entered the classroom was undoubtedly the crazy scientist from the tower. How or why was he here, nobody knew. First thing he did however was to go where Edogawa stood and pushed him to the side before addressing the class:

"I'm sorry everyone but I'm afraid classes are cancelled for today!" Which was enough to get most students to happily stand and be on their way, though within a second Doc was before Minato. "Minato! You've got to come back with me!"

"Doc?!" Was that reality? Why did things like that keep happening to him? "... Back where?"

"Back to the future!"

Junpei who had been sitting besides Minato heard that and opened weird eyes. That guy looked straight out from a bad science-fiction movie. Undoubtedly this old man with wild hair had escaped from some asylum and was now out for blood. The fact that he knew Minato made this even weirder.

"Dude... You know that weirdo? He gives me the creeps."

Minato looked at Junpei then back at Doc. How could he even begin to explain that? He had had no plan to tell anyone about the Tower, but with that... He really hadn't needed that in his day.

"Doc, I just can't go like that, there are my friends here--"

Doc shook his head and grabbed Minato by the shoulder-- To drag him outside. Well, Minato ended up following him and needless to say, Junpei and Yukari were right behind.

"Well brings them along, this concerns them too."

"What are you talking about? What happens in the future?" He replied then asked with genuine worry. "Do they become assholes or something?"

"No no no no, Minato! They turn out just fine! It's your death Minato! Something has got to be done about your death!"

Notice the absolute casual tone Doc used to speak. Well, this truly was a lovely day. An expression of surprise nearly crossed Minato's face.

"Wait a minute, I... Die?"

When they finally reached the Delorean outside the school, Doc turned back to Minato and nodded.

"Yes! And when Nyarlathotep comes back, there is no one to stop him! When there is no one to stop him, he causes a time paradox that has for effect to tear apart the space-time continuum, resulting in the destruction of this entire universe!"

"... Nyarlathotep?"

Doc shook his head and opened the Delorean's door. "Never mind that now! Get in the car!"

"Hey, wait Doc, we don't even have our evokers with us."

"Evokers?" He laughed and put on the special silver glasses to drive the Delorean. "Where we're going, we don't need evokers."
